The watch shows "No fix" or no numbers

Speed and course appear once you are moving faster than 0.5 knots with a GPS fix. Make sure Location and workout access are allowed in the setup screens, and that the watch has a clear view of the sky.

How do I mark a man overboard?

Swipe left from the main page to the MOB page and press MOB once. The mark is saved immediately and the page switches to the arrow, bearing and distance back to it.

Does it need my iPhone?

No. Better Captain is a standalone watch app with no network access and no account.

Does it save workouts to Health?

No. A sailing workout session only keeps GPS running with your wrist down. Workouts are discarded.

Safety

Better Captain is a navigation aid. It does not replace approved man overboard procedures, your boat's own MOB function, a personal AIS beacon or PLB, or good seamanship.
